I decided I would try this blogging thing out. So, here I go…
I won’t get too deep today. Just some thoughts…This morning I had the unique opportunity to meet with a couple of ladies for a craft time. Actually, I do this most every Monday. I’m definitely no artist. In fact, I scroll through Pinterest trying to find something that doesn’t look too hard for us to try. This morning I brought glass jars and we painted them. The other ladies found some interesting designs for their jars. I attempted to paint branches with cherry blossoms but it didn’t turn out as good as the example online. I didn’t have time to finish it today so I’ll take it back next week. It’s sitting on my coffee table right now.
I guess the point of this story is to remember to enjoy the process. It’s not always about the finished product. This jar represents my courage to try something new. I never claimed to be good at it, but if beauty is in the eye of the beholder than maybe it’s good enough. I enjoyed the time I spent with the ladies, catching up, and hearing about their lives. The act of painting was calming and allowed me to be creative.
What do I want you to get from this blog? Don’t be afraid to try something new. Even if it doesn’t turn out the way you want, sometimes that’s not what is important. Enjoy the process–it’s what lets us know we are alive! Carpe Diem!!
